Der Übergang

The feature film debut of Chilean exile Orlando Lübbert tells the story of the escape of three Chilean opposition activists across the Andes to Argentina after the military junta took power. Conceived as a chamber play, the director succeeds in taking a reflexive look at political consciousness and action. The film was digitally restored in 2023 with funding from the Federal, State and FFA Film Heritage funding program. The film was made available by the DEFA Foundation.
